I learned to dive in the Wetro in 2004 and have been an enthusiastic diver ever since. In 2015 I decided to turn my hobby into my job and completed all the courses in the Philippines up to and including diving instructor and then worked for 5 years as a diving instructor on the beautiful island of Bohol. During this time I have been able to train many happy students. Due to various circumstances, I ended up back in Germany, where I will continue to practice my passion with Tom's diving school in Germany and train many students here and make them happy.

Questions? Here are the answers.

  • Is a diving fitness examination (TTU) necessary?

    A TTU is absolutely recommended for your own safety and should be renewed every 2 years up to the age of 50 and annually from the age of 50.

  • How long does the Open Water Diver training take?

    The OWD training takes about 3 days, but these do not necessarily have to be contiguous

  • How long is my diving license valid?

    Your diving license is valid for your whole life. After a longer break from diving, however, a refresher course is recommended.

  • Where can I dive with my diving license?

    Your diving license is valid and recognized worldwide. You may dive in all waters where local regulations allow.

  • How old do I have to be at least to get a diving license?

    You must be at least 10 years old to start diving. From the age of 8 you can do a taster course.

  • How deep can I dive with my diving license?

    With the Open Water Diver course you can dive to a depth of 12 m up to the age of 12 and from the age of 12 you can dive to a maximum depth of 18 m.
